The Eparchy of Toronto ( lat. : Eparchia Torontinus Ucrainorum ) is in Canada located eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church , based in Toronto .

history

The Toronto Eparchy was founded on January 19, 1948 by Pope Pius XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Omnium cuiusvis ritus from cession of territory by the Apostolic Exarchate Canada as the Apostolic Exarchate Eastern Canada . The Apostolic Exarchate of Eastern Canada was renamed the Apostolic Exarchate of Toronto on March 10, 1951 .

On November 3, 1956, the Apostolic Exarchate Toronto was by Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Hanc Apostolicam raised to the eparchy and subordinated to the Archeparch Winnipeg as a suffragan diocese.
