Erazim Kohák
Erazim Kohák (born May 21, 1933 in Prague ; † February 8, 2020 ) was a Czech philosopher and publicist .
Life
Kohák's parents were part of the Czechoslovak resistance movement during World War II . After the February coup , the family fled to the United States. Erazim Kohák studied philosophy and religious studies at Colgate University and Yale University . In 1977 Kohák was appointed professor at Boston University in Massachusetts . Kohák was a fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. After the Velvet Revolution , Kohák was able to visit Czechoslovakia again, and between 1991 and 1994 he taught alternately in Prague and Boston, until he finally returned to the Czech Republic in 1995 and became a professor at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University .
Erazim Kohák was an honorary member of the Czech environmental movement Děti Země .
