Erdmute Schmid-Christian (born October 13, 1943 in Waren ) is a German actress .

After working as a nurse for several years, she attended the Konrad Wolf Babelsberg Film School from 1966 to 1969 . Schmid-Christian played her first roles at the Berliner Ensemble and the Stadttheater Senftenberg . She also worked in Prenzlau and worked at the Meiningen Theater from 1974 to 1976 . This was followed by appearances as a freelance actress at the Das Ei theater in Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin, as well as at the TiP theater (Theater im Palast der Republik ).

Schmid-Christian was married to his fellow actor Norbert Christian in his second marriage in the 1970s . By 1992, she starred in just over forty roles in film and television. Since then she has also worked as a Christian missionary.
