Erhard von Schmidt (born April 2, 1903 in Thorn ; † January 27, 1994 in Bergisch Gladbach ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

After attending secondary school in Halberstadt , Potsdam and Danzig from 1909 to 1914, Schmidt was a member of the cadet corps in Potsdam and Berlin-Lichterfelde from 1914 to 1920 . He then learned the trade of farmer, which he finally practiced in Kölzow, Czechs near Königzelt / Schweidnitz district, Silesia and in Sadewitz / Breslau district (today Polish Sadowice , Wrocław Voivodeship ), Silesia. He later earned his living as a businessman in Berlin , Königsberg , Halberstadt, Hamburg , Leipzig and Cologne .

In Cologne, he was now a member of the SA and after the repeal of the nationwide SA and SS ban on June 14, 1932, he was appointed Standartenführer with effect from July 1, 1932, from that day until September 14, 1933 staff leader of the SA - Cologne-Aachen subgroup. After this sub-group was renamed "SA-Brigade 71" "Cologne" from September 15, 1933 as part of a nationwide reorganization of the SA, he had this post until September 25, 1933, the day of his transfer to the SA group Pomeranian. He had previously been elected city councilor in Cologne in August 1933. On November 9, 1933, Erhardt von Schmidt was promoted to SA Oberführer and then from November 10 to 30, he was assigned to lead SA Brigade 16 "Schleswig" of the SA Group Nordmark. His SA career continued with his transfer to the SA group Hansa. From December 1, 1933 to February 28, 1934 he was in charge of the SA Brigade 11 "Mecklenburg" (seat in Schwerin ) before he was appointed leader of this SA formation from March 1, 1934. Promoted to SA Brigade Leader on April 20, 1934, he was in charge of SA Brigade 11 through the turmoil of the so-called " Röhm Putsch " until November 30, 1936. From this point in time he no longer exercised a command function in the SA, but was SA leader zV of the SA group Hansa until January 31, 1937, before he was transferred again, from February 1, 1937 to the SA group Berlin -Brandenburg and zV of SA Brigade 30 "Berlin-West" (based in Berlin-Grunewald).

From March 29, 1936 to May 1938, von Schmidt was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 35 (Mecklenburg) . In April 1938, he ran again for the Reichstag in place 569 of the “Reich election proposal”, but without being elected. At that time he was living in Berlin-Lichtenrade, Wolziger line 15.

From July 1942, Erhardt von Schmidt was an honorary judge at the People's Court in Berlin for the duration of the war .

Erhard von Schmidt married Ulla von Both in 1934 .
