Erich Eingg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Erich Einegg (actually Wulff Wyneken ; born September 5, 1898 in Münster , † November 8, 1966 in Berlin ) was a German pianist , composer and lyricist .

Life

Erich Einegg was born as Wulff Wyneken in Münster / Westphalia on September 5, 1898 and worked as a pianist and composer in Berlin in the 1920s. In 1928, together with the actors Rosa Valetti and Aribert Wäscher , he founded the cabaret “Larifari” in Berlin, in which greats like Max Colpet , Trude Kolman , Werner Finck and Rudolf Platte had their first appearances. The young Ernst Busch made his debut here as a Tucholsky interpreter and as a political singer with his satirical “soap song” on the election propaganda of the SPD. Eingg accompanied the lecturers on the piano.

Erich Einegg died in Berlin on November 8, 1966.

Works

Eingg wrote hits and cabaret songs performed by well-known interpreters of the 1920s and 1930s such as Paul O'Montis , Hilde Hildebrand and Hilde Seipp ; including several chansons for the Berlin Diseuse Claire Waldoff . He also wrote the texts for some of them. He has also handed down light music of the concert type.

As a companion on the grand piano, he made several recordings in the late 1920s with the Saxon humorist and writer Hans Reimann , whose texts he had set to music. They appeared on the brands Homocord, Ultraphon and Telefunken.

Eingg wrote the lyrics for an operetta and the music for a chamber operetta and a comedy. He also wrote the music for three German feature films.

The music archive of the German National Library records 16 sound recordings and 16 music editions.

  25. cf. eastgermancinema.com the music is composed by Erich Eingg and it is his only feature film. Einegg was a talented composer and is best known for his songs sung by the famous lesbian songstress of the 1920's, Claire Waldoff (whose life was the basis of the East German TV-movie Claire Berolina). Einegg's music here, however, is strident, march tempo music, similar to that used in US films about the glories of the heroic FBI Later, other composers such as Karl-Ernst Sasse, and Hanns Eisler would handle soundtrack composition with more subtlety….
