Werner E. Hintz

Werner Erich Hintz (* 1907 in Berlin ; † 1985 ) was a German writer , radio play and screenwriter .

Life

Werner E. Hintz attended school in Danzig and studied modern philology after graduating from high school . At the same time he began to be active as a writer and wrote a number of novels, including detective stories, since the early 1930s.

After participating in the war and being released from British captivity, Hintz came to what was then RIAS in his hometown in 1946 . There he was able to establish himself as an author and editor of numerous programs, the most famous being the children's program Onkel Tobias , which was spoken by Fritz Genschow . His adaptations of novels for the series Back then - Tales from Old Berlin also became popular .

Hintz had already written some scripts for short films in the mid-1930s. From the 1970s in particular, he wrote further books for series and films until his death.
