Erich Ettlin (born May 30, 1962 in Kerns ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) and a member of the Council of States of the canton of Obwalden since 2015 .

Life

Ettlin first completed a commercial apprenticeship and received further training to become a dipl. Business Economist HWV / FH, Federal. dipl. Tax expert and federal dipl. Auditor . From 1996 to 2001 he was head of the cantonal tax administration in Obwalden. From 1988 to 1996 and since 2002 Ettlin has been an employee of BDO AG , where he has been a partner and member of the management since 2010.

Ettlin is married, has two children and lives in Kerns , which is also his place of origin .

Council of States

In the federal elections in 2015 , Ettlin stood as a member of the Council of States of the canton of Obwalden. In the first ballot on October 18, 2015, he achieved the best result of the three candidates with 6,754 votes (44.8%), but missed the absolute majority . In the second ballot on November 15, 2015, Adrian Halter ( SVP ) did not run and Erich Ettlin won the election with 7,441 votes (54.2%) against André Windlin ( FDP ), who received 6,283 votes (45, 8%). Ettlin ran again in the parliamentary elections on October 20, 2019 . Since there was no opposing candidate, he was re-elected in a silent vote .
