Erich Hans Paul Ryneck (born November 18, 1899 in Rixdorf , † April 7, 1976 in Berlin-Steglitz ) was a German local politician ( SPD ).

Life

Ryneck, the son of Elfriede Ryneck and Emil Ryneck, was an engineer . Before the Second World War he was a proofreader for the SPD newspaper Vorwärts and was banned from working in 1933. He was married to Erna Bresemann (* June 20, 1900), with whom he had three children together: Peter (* April 1933), Jutta (* March 27, 1934), who later became a lawyer and President of the Federal Constitutional Court, and Brigitte (* February 15, 1940). When he was banned from working, he took care of the children and the household, while his wife worked as a waitress to support the family. He was later drafted into the arms industry.

On October 20, 1946, the first democratic elections for the district councils since 1933 took place in all of Berlin . As a result, Erich Ryneck, nominated by the SPD, became district mayor of the Pankow district from December 1946 to December 1948 . After the war, the son Peter visited the school farm Insel Scharfenberg . Since Ryneck was an opponent of the union of the SPD and KPD to form the SED , he feared repression and therefore moved to the American sector in Berlin-Lichterfelde .
