Erik-Jan De Boer

Erik-Jan De Boer (* March 1967 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch film technician who specializes in visual effects and works for the company Rhythm & Hues .

Life

De Boer studied fashion in Utrecht at the end of the 1980s , but eventually switched to image and media technology in London . After seven years there, he went to Rhythm & Hues in Los Angeles in 1996 on the advice of his mother . De Boer made his Hollywood debut in 1996 with the multi-award-winning film The English Patient . Films like Stuart Little , The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia and The Golden Compass followed .

In 2013 , De Boer won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for Aang Lee's drama Life of Pi: Shipwreck with Tiger .
