Erik King (* in Washington, DC ) is an American actor best known for his role as Sergeant Doakes on the television series Dexter .

Life

Erik King's career began in 1983. He played his first major role in 1989 in Brian De Palma's film The Damned of War , opposite Oscar winner Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox . In the years that followed, King appeared primarily in television series until he returned to the big screen by any means in 1996, along with Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman in Michael Apted's Extreme .

After the embodiment of Moses Deyell in Oz - Hell Behind Bars , he made short appearances in CSI: Miami , Charmed or Malcolm in the middle . In 2004, King made his comeback in cinema with the Legacy of the Knights Templar in the role of Agent Colfax.

His greatest success in 2006 and 2007 was the role of Sgt. James Doakes in the television series Dexter , which was produced by the pay TV channel Showtime . He starred in 25 episodes alongside Michael C. Hall , Jennifer Carpenter and Lauren Vélez .

In his spare time, Erik King works with children and practices martial arts .
