Erik Thomson (born April 27, 1967 in Inverness , Scotland ) is an Australian actor , best known for his role as Dr. Mitch Stevens on the Australian drama series All Saints . He was recently cast in the role of Jack Jaffers in the drama The Alice . Previously, he was a regular presenter of the travel show Getaway .

Life

Erik Thomson studied performing arts at the New Zealand Drama School in Wellington and English literature and drama at Victoria University of Wellington . During this time he took part in theatrical productions of Julius Caesar , The Twelve Jurors and Angels in America .

On Australian television, he has so far been seen in the television productions Pacific Drive , Wildside and All Saints . Thomson won the Silver Logie Award for Most Popular Actor of 2003 for his performance in All Saints . In 2008 he played the role of Simon Mollison in the Australian film The Black Balloon alongside Toni Collette , Gemma Ward , Rhys Wakefield and Luke Ford . The film had its world premiere in February 2008 at the Berlinale , where it received a crystal bear as best full-length film in the 14plus category . It was first shown in Australian cinemas on March 6, 2008.

Since the end of August 2008 Thomson can be seen in Australia alongside Rebecca Gibney as the father of the family, Dave Rafter, in the successful series Packed to the Rafters ( The Chaos Family ). In 2009 he worked in the film drama The Boys Are Back - Back to Life .
