Erika Berger (born August 13, 1939 in Munich ; † May 15, 2016 in Cologne ) was a German television presenter , author and sex counselor .

Life

Erika Berger was born in Munich as the daughter of a housewife and a businessman and originally wanted to be an actress . After graduating from high school, at the urging of her parents, she began to study business administration . She became pregnant and married at the age of 20 . This marriage, which was divorced in 1969, has a son and a daughter.

Berger met Richard Mahkorn (1943–2007), who would later become editor-in-chief of the magazines Neue Revue and Quick, as a temporary service worker in a Munich discotheque . Both moved to Hamburg and married in 1974. In 1976 Berger went to Bild-Zeitung . She then wrote for the Neue Revue and conducted interviews.

In 1987 she started hosting the program Eine Chance für die Liebe at RTL , in which she answered questions from the audience about sexuality .

The show polarized strongly, Berger was u. a. confronted with allegations by sex therapists that she was running “propaganda for the infidelity ”. Meanwhile, she also tried her hand at being a singer: In 1990 the album I love you was released with German-language songs that Berger had helped write. A year earlier, a dance single called Sex Is Fun by the studio project Erotic Society had been released, in which Berger was a guest. The talk show Der flotte Dreier followed at the end of 1991 . From the end of 1994 she presented the daily horoscope and played a reporter in the series Divorce Court . From June 1, 2005, she hosted programs such as Night Talk on the specialty channel Focus Gesundheit .

From 2009 Berger was a regular guest on the TV show Big Brother as an expert on love stories in the TV shared apartment. In 2010 she had a cameo in the film CIS - anarchists in special operations and worked in the sketch show Old Ass Bastards of the stations ProSieben with. From 2013 she was in charge of the Sat.1 show Flirten, Daten, Lieben as a presenter . In February 2015 she took part in the VOX show Promi Shopping Queen .

Erika Berger died on May 15, 2016 at the age of 76 in her apartment in Cologne's Friesenviertel. She was buried next to her husband Richard Mahkorn in Cologne's Melaten cemetery (hall 4 O).
