Erin Gray (born January 7, 1950 in Honolulu , Hawaii ) is an American actress who is best known for her roles in the sitcom Silver Spoons as Kate Summers and in the science fiction series Buck Rogers as Wilma Deering .

Life

Erin Gray lived in Hawaii until her parents separated, after which she moved with her mother to California , where she attended school. At the age of 15, Erin Gray got the opportunity to meet Nina Blanchard , the CEO of one of the leading modeling agencies in Hollywood . Then she started a career in the modeling business.

A few years later she was one of the top models in New York . She worked as a spokesperson for brands such as L'Oréal , Max Factor and Bloomingdale’s . During her time in New York, she developed her interest in acting and decided to move to Hollywood.

She had her first television appearance in 1967 as a dancer in a miniseries. More offers followed, until she finally received a seven-year contract from Universal Studios in 1978 . As a result, she got next to Gil Gerard a leading role in the film and the eponymous television series Buck Rogers : There she played the strong female character Colonel Wilma Deering, the first female colonel in a television series.

The attempt to develop her own series ( spin-off ) from her role in the first season of Magnum failed. From 1982 to 1987 she appeared in the series Silver Spoons . After completing the series, she added film roles to her commissions in addition to series roles, for example in 1993 in Jason Goes to Hell - Die Endabrechnung as Diana Kimble .

In addition to other roles, she works as a casting agent in her agency Heroes for Hire , which specializes in SciFi actors.

Her first marriage was to Ken Schwartz. She has been married to Richard Hissong since 1991. Both marriages produced a child.
