The Erlbach is a creek about 6 km long in the western urban area of Munich and on its border, which flows into the Gröbenbach from the right and south at the city limits of Olching . It belongs to the Isar river system .
The stream rises in the west of the city in the Aubing district south of the Aubinger Lohe near the Moosschwaige estate . It flows to the north, flows through the Moosschwaiger Weiher , in the west of the Aubinger Lohe it takes up the right lower course of the name of the Speckbach, which is 2.2 km long here, from the left, and continues between Gröbenzell in the west and the Lochhausen district in the east, on a section also on the city limits. It flows northeast of Gröbenzell shortly before it crosses under the A8 in the Gröbenbach, which is the city limit of Olching here .
The Erlbach is 6.1 km long and has - counting the Speckbach only from its lower fork - a narrow catchment area of 23.8 km², which extends from the southern edge of Gauting , which is almost 10 km south of the source, northwards to the Muzzle stretches. The highest point in it is on the southern tip near Gauting at over 580 m above sea level. NN .
