The Erlenbach is a two kilometer long right and northern tributary of the Hillersbach in the area of ​​the town of Schotten in the Vogelsbergkreis in Hesse .

The Erlenbach rises at an altitude of about 386  m above sea level. NHN in a small coniferous forest on the western slope of the Vogelsberg east of Schotten - Eichelsachsen , right next to the B 276 . At first it flows about 100 m in a westerly direction through forest terrain and then turns to the southwest. After another hundred meters, it is bordered by grassland on its right side and by forest on its left. It now runs through the Eichenwiesentrieb forest on the southern slope of the Windberg ( 397.3  m above sea level ), then turns south at the Eichwiese and finally flows about 1.5 km southeast of the Eichelsachsen settlement on Am Hirzberg at the foot of a long slope clearing in Waldgewann Dachsberg at an altitude of about 330  m above sea level. NHN in the Hillersbach .
