The Hillersbach rises at an altitude of about 576  m above sea level. NHN south of Schotten -Waldsiedlung south of the Vogelsberg .

It flows in a south-southwest direction and finally flows into Ortenberg - Lißberg at an altitude of about 116  m above sea level. NHN from the right into the lowlands.
