Ermeli ( Russian Эрмели ) is a settlement (possjolok) place in Rajon Jaschkulski in the Russian Republic of Kalmykia . It has 245 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

The settlement is about 60 km as the crow flies east of the republic capital Elista and about 25 km northwest of the district center of Yashkul . The federal highway R216 , which connects Astrakhan to Stavropol via Elista, runs about five kilometers to the south .

The place was founded in 1978 under the name Pervomaiski (from Russian Pervoje Maja for " May 1st ") as the central settlement of a newly formed state farm , which was closed again during the economic crisis of the 1990s. During this time the place got its current name after a nearby settlement that disappeared in the 1940s as a result of the deportation of all Kalmyks in 1943. As part of the administrative reform in Russia in the 2000s, Ermeli was still the seat of a rural community (selskoje posselenije), which was dissolved in 2009 due to the continued sharp decline in population. Since then Ermeli part of the rural community Gaschunskoje selskoje posselenije based in the 9km southeast, settlement Gashun .
