geography
Source and history
The Ernsbach rises in the extreme east of the municipal area of Jagsthausen in the Altes Ernsbach forest at about 332 m above sea level. NHN . The closest settlement area is the Schöntaler Weiler Spitzenhof approx. 600 m east-southeast. The stream flows about 400 m to the west-south-west, reaches the border with the open field and then slowly turns to the south-south-east.
A dirt road coming from the Edelmannshof in the west crosses it, where it has already reached a southerly direction, then the first sparse wood appears on the left slope. The slopes - the Schellenberg on the left , the Hasensprung on the right - the valley basin , which is around 70 meters deep when you cross over to the Ernsbach district, are then completely overgrown with forest on at least one side as far as the village itself. The stream flows between two nearby Aussiedlerhof groups on the right and left valley hill, then a connecting road from the west of the Holzweiler Hof runs through a side hollow into the valley, which follows the stream as far as Ernsbach and is called Brunnensteige there.
He reaches the settlement boundary of Ernsbach verdolt and thus crosses the village, to the south about 100 meters below the Kocher bridge after a total of 2.5 km run to about 185 m above sea level. NHN flow into the cooker from the right .
Catchment area
The Ernsbach has a catchment area of around 1.9 km². It is bordered to the north by the the Jagst -Zuflusses by Berlichinger Pfaff blade , on the east of him and flowing with a similar course to the digester Stelzersklingenbachs . The cooker itself competes in the entire southern area, and in the western part of the dry Kalbach , which reaches it in Sindringen . In the north-west, beyond the watershed, a long dry valley runs to Jagsthausen to Jagst ( Westertal blade with a longer southern branch through the Rote Grund ).
The village of Ernsbach is the only settlement on the brook, in the catchment area there are also some mostly newer farms to the right and left of the middle course.
geology
The Ernsbachs rises on the plateau in the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt Formation ), runs in its blade in the Upper Muschelkalk and from the outskirts of Ernsbach in the Middle Muschelkalk and flows into the broad floodplain sediment around the Kocher.
