The course of the Jagst

The catchment area of the Jagst covers approximately 1824 km². It has six tributaries of over 20 km in length, namely the Röhlinger Sechta near Rainau - Schwabsberg , the Brettach near Gerabronn - Elpershofen , the (lower) Erlenbach near Schöntal - Bieringen , the Kessach in Widdern , the Seckach in Möckmühl and the Schefflenz near Bad Friedrichshall - Untergriesheim . These are all right-sided. Other right-hand tributaries with a length of over 10 km are the Rechenberger Rot near Jagstzell - Schweighausen , the Reiglersbach in Stimpfach , the Gronach near Satteldorf - Bölgental , the Ette near Mulfingen-Bachmühle and the Hergstbach in Möckmühl- Ruchsen .

With a length of more than 10 km, the larger of the left tributaries are the Orrot near Jagstzell -Schweighausen, the Speltach and the Maulach near Crailsheim - Jagstheim and the longest among them the Sindelbach in Schöntal - Marlach , which is not even 14 km long; none of the left reaches much more than a third of the length of the Seckach, which with its 37 km length (on the longest upper course with the Kirnau ) has the greatest length and the largest water flow of all tributaries.

The tributaries of the Jagst are listed from the source to the mouth, insofar as they are entered by name on the TK25 or in LUBW-FG10. Names preferred to TK25, lengths preferred to LUBW-FG10, otherwise measured there or on the TK25.

The lengths are rounded to the nearest hundred meters. For some entries in LUBW-FG10, locality names and not water body names were apparently used, typically for example the blade names of streams with no or without known names entered in the measurement table sheets. In other cases, too, streams have to be designated periphrastically in the absence of any designation in the sources . To distinguish, the names or parts of the names taken from the sources are written in italics. A "Klingenbach" would be generically an unnamed creek in a blade Klingenbach however, a proper name.

  15. a b Both the water, referred to here as the tributary along the Mühlweg and the tributary from the Mühlklinge , which flows only about a hundred meters afterwards, border the Gewann Mühlklinge , the first in the north with the Gewann Kleines Feldle opposite , the second in the south with the opposite won Sidele . The larger catchment area of the first as well as the course of the Mühlweg in it suggest that the name Mühlklinge for the valley could mean the basin of the northern tributary. On the WMS-ALKIS-Basis layer of Geoportal Baden-Württemberg ( information ), an additional open section of the river is also specified for this body of water, which is not included in the length specification, which already begins at Obergriesheimer Grabenstrasse , but cannot be clearly identified on aerial photographs.
