Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher

Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher (born June 9, 1751 in Katz in West Prussia , † October 12, 1814 in Groß Botzepol (later Groß Boschpol ) in Western Pomerania ) was a German landowner and district administrator .

Life

He was a member of the noble von Weiher family, who lived in Pomerania and West Prussia . His father George von Weiher (* 1704; † 1760) was a royal Polish chamberlain and captain of the Lauenburg and Bütow regions . His mother was born von Krockow .

After the early death of his father, Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher grew up in the household of his maternal grandfather. From 1766 to 1769 he studied at the University of Göttingen and at the University of Halle . He inherited the Langfuhr estate near Danzig from his father's inheritance , which he sold to the Prussian state after 1772.

Instead, he acquired the Groß Botzepol estate in the Lauenburg-Bütow district . He was involved in the West Prussian landscape , founded in 1787 , a landscape credit institute , for which he became landscape councilor in 1790 and later district ruler.

In 1800 Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher was elected as the successor to Franz Christoph von Somnitz as district administrator of the Lauenburg-Bütow district . He held this office until his death in 1814. District administrator of the Lauenburg-Bütow district was succeeded by his brother Moritz Heinrich von Weiher in 1818 .

Marriages and offspring

Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher was married to Dorothea Renate, a born von Weiher, for the first time in 1777. The marriage resulted in a son and two daughters. One of the two was Karoline Freiin von Weiher (1779-1860), who was married to Hermann von Hohenzollern-Hechingen (1777-1827).

After the death of his first wife in 1786, Ernst Carl Ludwig von Weiher married Dorothea Friederike, a widowed von Dorne and née Heller, in 1794 . From this marriage two sons were born.
