Ernst Ludwig Fischer (born February 12, 1934 in Neubulach ; † May 3, 2019 in Kornwestheim ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1982 to 1999 he was Lord Mayor of the large district town of Kornwestheim.

Life

In 1967 Fischer started his service in Kornwestheim and was one of the employees of his predecessor Siegfried Pflugfelder until 1982 . He worked ten years as a chamberlain and five years as first alderman and mayor.

In 1982, Fischer was elected Lord Mayor. In 1995, Fischer inaugurated the container terminal with Federal Transport Minister Matthias Wissmann , thus laying the foundation for a new era in the history of the railway town of Kornwestheim.

Fischer was chairman of the Pattonville / Sonnenberg association. In 1996, Fischer created a new district from the American housing estate. The establishment of the North Württemberg School Museum goes back to his initiative, as well as the Kleihues building with the museum and the stadium sports hall. Fischer deepened the town twinning with Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and Eastleigh and received honorary citizenship in both twin towns for this commitment. The town twinning with Weißenfels on the Saale and Kimry on the Volga can also be traced back to Fischer's commitment. Kimry has also made him an honorary citizen.

On the occasion of his 70th birthday, Fischer was given honorary citizenship of the city of Kornwestheim in 2004.
