Ernst Friedrich von der Heyden (* 1704 in the Neumark ; † 1772 ) was a Prussian colonel and head of the regiment .

Life

Heyden joined the Finck Infantry Regiment (No. 12) at the age of 16 . In December 1742 he was promoted to captain and was promoted to Oberstwachtmeister on October 28, 1756 . Heyden, who had meanwhile been a lieutenant colonel, was promoted to colonel in May 1764 under General Wunsch . In January 1767, the king gave Heyden the Berlin state regiment , which had previously been with Christian Ernst Emanuel von Lembcke . With reference to his 47 years of service, Heyden wanted to give up his post with a monthly salary of only 14 thalers, preferring to resign with a pension , but the king did not consent to this. Heyden had to take over the Berlin state regiment on January 14, 1767 . On March 9th, Heyden turned to the king again and asked for his farewell, since the post was by no means adequate. Thereupon Frederick II granted him an annual surcharge of 150 thalers, which was still well below the rank-related pension expected from Heyden. Finally, on April 27, 1767, he was allowed to hand over the regiment to Johann Sylvius von Rothkirch and succeeded August Friedrich Marschall von Bieberstein , owner of garrison regiment No. 3 , which Colonel Vietinghoff , who was no longer able to use in the field, took over after him in June 1772 .
