Ernst Gotthardt

Ernst Gotthardt (* 1908 in Kassel , German Empire ; † October 1976 ) was a German geodesist , photogrammeter and university professor.

Life

Ernst Gotthardt wanted after successfully completing high school as his father teacher be. After completing the teaching examination for secondary schools , however, he could not find a job due to the high unemployment in 1931/33. His father then introduced him to the profession of land surveyor , which he studied at the Technical University of Berlin-Charlottenburg . There he received in 1937 his diploma , received his doctorate in the following year and habilitated to 1940. He then served as an assistant at the University of Bonn worked until 1948 at the University of Stuttgart was founded, where he first associate professor and later professor of Geodesy and Photogrammetry was. In 1965 he was offered the chair for photogrammetry and cartography at the Technical University of Munich . His retirement took place on March 31, 1976. His successor was Heinrich Ebner .

Gotthardt died only six months after his retirement.

Research areas

Gotthardt had two main research areas:

• The image orientation up to stripe and block adjustments including the accuracy analysis
• The error theory and adjustment calculation , especially the error theory of aerotriangulation and analytical photogrammetry
