Ernst Hintz

Ernst Jakob Hintz (born May 14, 1854 in Worms , † August 13, 1934 in Wiesbaden ) was a German chemist .

Life

Ernst Hintz studied at the Polytechnic University of Karlsruhe and the University of Strasbourg and was 1878 in Strasbourg with a thesis on the pyrene and its derivatives to Dr. phil. PhD .

After his further training in the chemical laboratory Fresenius Wiesbaden , he worked as a lecturer in the teaching department and as a department head.

In 1897, after the death of Carl Remigius Fresenius , he took over the management of the Fresenius laboratory together with Theodor Wilhelm Fresenius and Heinrich Fresenius and together with them published volumes 37 to 58 of the journal for analytical chemistry until 1920 . He had the title of professor.

On December 4, 1888, Ernst Hintz was accepted as a member ( registration number 2825 ) in the Leopoldina .

His scientific focus was in the field of mineral water investigations.

Ernst Hintz was married to Auguste Fresenius, the daughter of Carl Remigius Fresenius.
