Ernst Kappeler

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ernst Kappeler (born June 14, 1911 in Uster ; † May 20, 1987 in Uitikon ) was a Swiss writer who, as a teacher and life coach , dealt specifically with the problems of young people.

Life

Ernst Kappeler first attended the Küsnacht Cantonal School and then trained as a secondary teacher. Until 1965 he taught as a teacher in Andelfingen , Winterthur and Zurich . Then he gave up the teaching profession and lived as a freelance writer and employee of youth magazines in Uitikon near Zurich. In 1935 he published his first volume of poetry in German; later he wrote three volumes of poetry in Zurich dialect .

However, Kappeler has been best known since the mid-1950s, when he increasingly turned to the problems of young people and acted as their advisor and “journalistic lawyer”. He published educational works and books for young people such as I find my way (1959), Why? Young People Ask (1967); he also published the series Trust there . He became particularly well-known for the collection of letters from young people entitled It screams in me (1979). Kappeler's dialect - radio play De Tod isch grüen was honored in a competition for oral arthropods; it was created in 1968 and is about the suicide attempt of a schoolgirl. He talked about his life, born in Uster in 1975 and in 1986 during probationary periods .
