Ernst Kozub
Ernst Kozub (born January 24, 1924 in Hamborn , † December 27, 1971 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German opera singer ( lyrical tenor , later hero tenor ).
Life
Kozub studied at the Musikhochschule in Weimar and made his debut at the Komische Oper Berlin in 1950 as Chateauneuf in Zar und Zimmermann . In 1954 he moved to the Frankfurt Opera and in 1962 came to the Hamburg State Opera . He made guest appearances, especially as a heroic tenor (Siegmund and Siegfried from the Ring des Nibelungen , Parsifal 1959 in Frankfurt), at all major German theaters, at the Royal Opera House , the Vienna State Opera , La Scala in Milan and in Rome , Naples and Cairo .
After a car accident, he was struggling to continue his career. Ernst Kozub died on December 27, 1971 of an incurable disease. His urn grave is located in Königstein im Taunus .
