Ernst Krukowski

Ernst Krukowski (born April 2, 1918 in Gevelsberg , Westphalia , † October 22, 1982 in Berlin ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Krukowski studied singing at the Cologne University of Music . He made his debut at the Stadttheater Bremen in 1939 . After the Second World War he went on tour as a concert singer. He then had engagements at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen from 1947 to 1949, at the State Theater Saarbrücken from 1949 to 1951 and at the Stadttheater Basel from 1951 to 1953. From 1953 he was a member of the ensemble of the Städtische Oper Berlin, from which the Deutsche Oper Berlin emerged . Guest performances have taken him to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the State Opera Stuttgart and the State Opera Vienna , the Cologne Opera and the Bayreuth Festival , where he performed Hans Foltz in Richard Wagner's Meistersinger in 1963 as well as to Paris and Brussels.

Krukowski was married to Lilo Herbeth , a solo dancer at the Städtische Oper Berlin.
