Ernst Müller (born February 23, 1939 in Hanover ) is a German musician, bassist , conductor and music director .

Life

Ernst Müller learned to play the violin at the age of eight , and at 14 he also learned to play the trumpet with the chamber musician Willi Bode in the Hanover Opera House . As a teenager, at the age of 16, he directed the Godshorn fire brigade band . In 1956 he began his studies at the University of Music and Theater in Hanover.

In 1958, Müller founded the Langenhagen Wind Orchestra , which he directed , and which was renamed the Lower Saxony Wind Orchestra in 1975 .

From 1961 to 1969 Ernst Müller worked as a solo bassist at the Thalia Theater in Hanover .

Since 1977 Ernst Müller has directed the youth wind orchestra of the state capital Hanover , parallel to this from 1979 to 2001 the orchestra of Volkswagen AG and the music corps of the professional fire brigade Hanover .

In 1998 Ernst Müller also took over the "[...] direction of the SKH house orchestra of the Prince of Hanover". In the same year he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

In 2016, the Heimatbund Niedersachsen honored the musician with the award of the Cord-Borgentrick-Stone .

In January 2019, the members of the City Council of Langenhagen unanimously decided to make Müller an honorary citizen .
