Ernst Theilen

Ernst Dieter Theilen (born April 13, 1940 ) is a German lawyer , ministerial official and politician ( SPD ). From 1994 to 2001 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and for Sport in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

Theilen studied law and political science at the universities in Geneva , Berlin , Bonn and Cologne . This was followed by a second degree in political science at the Geneva University Institute for International Studies and a visit to the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in Boston . In 1968 he was at Cologne University with the dissertation topic , the federal government and the promotion of intra-German cultural tasks to doctor of law doctorate .

Theilen joined the SPD and worked, among other things, as a personal advisor for the Bundestag member Wilhelm Dröscher . From 1982 to 1994 he was District Administrator of the district Birkenfeld . From November 21, 1994 to May 18, 2001, he was State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Sports in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

After retiring, he worked as a management consultant.

Ernst Theilen has been married since 1967 and has two grown children.
