Jakob Heep (born July 6, 1893 in Bacharach , † August 14, 1956 in Idar-Oberstein ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Heep completed a commercial apprenticeship. From 1910 he did military service in the Prussian army , was a soldier in the medical service and held the rank of vice medical sergeant. From 1915 to 1918 he served in the administrative service of the Royal Prussian fortress hospital in Koblenz . From 1918 to 1920 he worked at the medical office and then at the main supply office of the city of Koblenz. In addition to his professional activity, he continued his education from 1926 to 1929 at the Central Rhine Administrative Academy and from 1927 to 1931 at the Administrative Academy in Bonn .

During the National Socialist era , Heep was dismissed as a government inspector in 1936, arrested by the Gestapo and sentenced to eight months in prison. He was arrested again in 1938 for a violation of the " Malice Act " and sentenced to a year in prison. After his release he worked as a self-employed farmer in Dommershausen . From 1944 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . During the war he was a control officer for prisoners of war and in 1945 he himself was briefly captured by the US.

Heep was already a member of the SPD before 1933, which he rejoined in 1945. In September 1945 he was appointed acting mayor of Kirchberg by the military government . He held this function until September 1946, when he for the position of district administrator of the district of Birkenfeld accepted, a position he held until his death. After the founding of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate , he was the first state election in 1947 with a direct mandate in Koblenz in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament elected, which he belonged to the 1951st In the state parliament he was a member of the agricultural policy committee, the food and supply committee, the reform committee and the reform and savings committee.
