Walter Beyer
Walter Beyer (born January 11, 1920 in Westhofen ; † July 2, 2012 in Gollenberg ) was a German civil servant and local politician ( SPD ).
Career
Beyer returned from the Second World War with a leg amputee . An economics degree he joined as a graduate in economics , and received his doctorate in 1948 at the University of Heidelberg . He completed the training for the higher administrative service .
He worked at the Bingen district office and was first district deputy there. After the death of his future father-in-law, District Administrator Jakob Heep , Prime Minister Peter Altmeier appointed him as District Administrator of the Birkenfeld district . He stayed in office until 1982.
