Ernst von Witzendorff

Ernst Hieronymus von Witzendorff (born April 20, 1828 in Scharnebeck , † February 16, 1896 in Schwerin ) was a Mecklenburg ministerial official.

Life

Ernst von Witzendorff was the fourth of eleven children of the Hanoverian captain and Mr. von Wiebendorf Peter von Witzendorff (1778-1857) and his wife Charlotte, born von Spörcken (1788-1866) from the house of Lüdersburg . His older brother Karl (1824-1891) was a Prussian general of the cavalry .

Career

Witzendorff studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and Rostock (from 1850). In 1849 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen . After completing his studies, he entered the service of the (partial) Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin . In his first positions he was an auditor and administrator in Grabow and Doberan . He was then appointed to the Schwerin Ministry of Finance, where he was promoted to Ministerial Council in 1863 . In 1867 he was appointed a member of the Chamber and Forestry College and appointed to the Chamber Council. In 1877 he was appointed Privy Councilor . Most recently he was chamber director. He died in retirement as a Chamber Director a. D.

He married Elisabeth Freiin von Maltzahn (* 1850) on May 21, 1873 in the Malchow Monastery . The following children were born from the marriage:
