Erpfting is a district of Landsberg am Lech in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech with about 1500 inhabitants and is located west of the city at an altitude of 617 m above sea level. NN .
history
Until the municipal reform in 1978, the place was an independent municipality together with Ellighofen . Erpfting has its own volunteer fire brigade , a kindergarten , a primary school and a branch of the VR-Bank Landsberg-Ammersee .
The European Holocaust Memorial is located in the Erpfting district . In 1985, the Landsberg Citizens' Association was able to acquire part of the area of the former concentration camp in the 20th century and, in the following decade, began expanding it into a European Holocaust memorial in order to enable the Holocaust to be remembered permanently and in dignity. Anton Posset was able to convince Alexander Moksel to provide the financial means for the purchase with the suggestion of Franz Josef Strauss . The bunkers were neglected at the time and were used as a clubhouse by a rocker group, the Devil Knights. From the beginning, the citizens' association looked after the property to ensure its preservation and preservation. The memorial was handed over to the European Holocaust Memorial Foundation in 2009 by the Landsberg Citizens' Association in the 20th century.
