Ervin Eleskovic (born May 8, 1987 in Bileća , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a former Swedish tennis player .

Career

Eleskovic played passably on the Junior Tour and was able to reach 45th place there in 2004.

In the same year he moved into the top 1000 of the world rankings for the first time . At the Swedish ATP tournaments in Båstad and Stockholm he received a wildcard each , which he could not use against Jarkko Nieminen and Kenneth Carlsen both times. His first game in doubles was also lost to Mahesh Bhupathi and number 1 in doubles Jonas Björkman . In the years that followed, he often played at ATP in Sweden, but otherwise mainly played on the third-rate ITF Future Tour . In doubles, Eleskovic won one title each in futures from 2005 to 2008. He had his best double year in 2006 when he reached his first final on the ATP Challenger Tour in Timișoara , followed by a semi-final two weeks later. In September 2006 he was 266th in doubles, his career high. He won his only ATP match in Stockholm in 2005. At the Challenger in Tampere , he also won his only title at this level in 2008.

The Swede won an individual future in 2005 and 2006 and made it into the top 500 for the first time this year. After a weaker year in 2007, he was able to end the year again in 2008. He won the singles on the ATP Tour for the first time in Båstad - against Filippo Volandri . In 2009 he lost only one place, in 2010 he won his third future title and was able to win another match in Båstad . After three wins in qualifying, he beat Poland's Jerzy Janowicz . He had his best year in singles in 2011, when he was able to reach his only Challenger quarter-finals in addition to two future titles . In the course of this, he was also listed on his career high with place 351. Against Serbia, Eleskovic also played his only match for the Swedish Davis Cup team , which he lost. After almost no tournament in 2013, he played a handful of tournaments again in 2014 before ending his career.
