Erwin Stahl (born June 25, 1931 in Eigenheim , Hohensalza district ; † August 7, 2019 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1978 to 1982 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Research and Technology .

education and profession

After his family was interned in Poland from 1945 to 1949, Stahl began an apprenticeship in mining , which he finished in 1951 as a miner and in 1953 as a cutter . After attending the mountain school, Stahl passed the pit climber exam in 1956 . In 1963 he obtained his certificate of qualification as a mine operator and mining engineer (grad.). From 1970 Stahl worked as a clerk at Bergbau AG Niederrhein .

Since 1964 he was a member of the SPD. Here he belonged to the executive committee of the SPD sub-district Viersen .

Public offices

On February 16, 1978, Stahl was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Research and Technology in the federal government led by Chancellor Helmut Schmidt . After Helmut Kohl was elected Federal Chancellor, he left office on October 4, 1982.
