Es war Mord is a German punk / hardcore punk band from Berlin . Musically it is based on the dark punk of the 1980s.
history
The two guitarists Tom Schwoll and Joseph Ehrensberger played together in the bands Jingo de Lunch and Destroyed Youth . Other predecessor bands were pre-war youth ( Ehrensberger) and Die Skeptiker und Kumpelbasis (Schwoll). There were also singer Stunk, who was with Situations before , as well as bassist Dietmar and drummer Markus.
In 2016, the first self-titled demo appeared on the DIY label Wild Wild East. The first version was limited to fifty different colored MCs and has since been completely sold out. This was followed by a new edition limited to 200 MCs.
The band then got a recording deal with Sounds of Subterrania , where their debut album Unter Kannibalen was released in 2017 . The album cover comes from the late artist Fritz Ebeling . In 2018 the band played at the Ruhrpott Rodeo .
The 10 " Death in the Garden " was published on December 21, 2018 , limited to 666 pieces.
style
Orientate yourself musically It was murder on German punk of the 1980s. Texts and music are very dark. Some of them take up current political issues such as the armaments industry and criticism of capitalism . Comparable bands are Razzia , Angeschissen and Blut + Eisen .
