The Eschbach is an almost 5 km long body of water in the Rhein-Mosel community of the Mayen-Koblenz district and in the independent city of Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is the most important tributary of the Konderbach .

geography

course

Its source is located a little east of the local community of Waldesch at the water reservoir, which is just now in the Rhenser urban area. The Eschbach first flows in a north-westerly direction through the village of Waldesch, then its forest valley begins and it runs westwards along the border with the city of Koblenz in the north. The Waldescher Mühle stood about two kilometers below the source until the 1990s, and in addition to the mill operation, it also included an excursion restaurant.

There the Eschbach turns on an approximately north-north-westerly course through the Koblenz area to the tributary of its largest tributary Kleinbornsbach from the east at the Dreibuchenplatz natural monument, from where it now flows in a westerly to northwesterly direction and on its last 150 meters border brook to the local community on the left bank Is thieving . Opposite the Kondermühle in the Kondertal district, it flows into the lower Konderbach from the right. This flows 700 meters further into the Moselle .

Infrastructure

Enclosed stream on Rhenser Straße in Waldesch.

Within the village of Waldesch, the Eschbach is bordered in several places and runs underground in places. In the future it should flow again in a natural stream bed. There is a sewage treatment plant on the outskirts of Waldesch . The course of the stream is followed by a hiking trail, which is followed by several paths into the Koblenz city forest and to the local excursion destinations. This hiking trail is part of a circular hiking trail around Waldesch.
