description
A marked hiking trail leads around the Eschenberg. At the summit of the predominantly wooded mountain there are hardly any prospects. For years, the observation post Fox 2 of the low-flying reporting and control service of the German Armed Forces was located there with a transmission mast visible from afar . After his abandonment, the Kirchdorf community planned to renaturalize the 11,500 square meter area; it was bought privately in 2003. Finally, the local council supported the plan to build an observatory on the mountain .
Other peaks such as the Wagensonnriegel , the Gsengetstein or the Hessenstein are in the area.
