The chimney 850 (on-board label eat 8 50 ) is a winning racing yachts of the Swiss manufacturer Schuchter , also with one hand can be sailed.
The aim of the designer Josef Schuchter was to build a ship that can be sailed alone and that sails stably and quickly in both low and high winds. Together with Umberto Felci, he designed the Esse 850 , which is named after the designer ( Esse Italian for S by Schuchter ) and its length (850 cm). The first boat was launched in March 2004.
Achievements and Awards
Just one week after it was launched, the boat won its first race ( winter regatta in Lugano ), further wins followed and, as the highlight, places 1 and 2 at the 2004 European Sports Boat Championship.
