history
Location of the stadium in Magdalena |
The Estadio Estadio Sierra Nevada was built for the Juegos Bolivarianos 2017 and inaugurated in November 2017 with the opening ceremony of the games and a concert by Carlos Vives . In January 2018 it was announced that the traditional club Unión Magdalena will use the stadium as their home stadium from the beginning of the 2018 season. The traditional home stadium of the club, the Estadio Eduardo Santos , was closed in 2013 due to dilapidation, which is why the club had to move to other cities from 2013 to 2017.
