history
Location of the stadium in Antioquia |
The Estadio Polideportivo Sur was built in 1976/77 and expanded in 1992 due to the promotion of Envigado FC to the first division so that it meets the requirements of a first division team. However, a sufficient lighting system was not installed until 1997. A comprehensive modernization took place in 2009 before the South American Games 2010 in Medellín, during which some competitions were held in the stadium in Envigado.
