Esther Sedlaczek (born November 24, 1985 in East Berlin ) is a German television presenter . She has been working for Sky in football reporting since 2011 .

Life

Sedlaczek is the oldest daughter of actor Sven Martinek and has six half-siblings. She grew up with her mother in Berlin and only met her father when she was 16. In 2005 she passed her Abitur at the Anna Freud High School and then spent a year in Sri Lanka , where she gave English lessons to children . After an internship at the magazine Superillu , she studied fashion journalism and media communication at the AMD Akademie Mode & Design in Berlin from 2007 to 2009 and completed an internship at RTL , among other things . From 2009 she studied political and administrative sciencesat the Fernuniversität in Hagen and also trained as a moderator at the Berlin ZIV Institute in the same year.

Sedlaczek then worked as a reporter and newscaster for several regional broadcasters in Berlin and Brandenburg in 2010 , before winning a casting against 2,700 other applicants at the end of the year and becoming a sports presenter for the pay-TV channel Sky. Since 2011 she has been reporting there as a field reporter, among other things, from the Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal , and since 2012 as a presenter of the 2nd Bundesliga. From 2011 to 2014 she hosted the Bundesliga matchday preview Mein Stadion, which she helped to create alongside Ulli Potofski . In addition, it also presents other sports and events on Sky such as the Ladies German Open 2011 in golf and the German beach volleyball championships since 2013.

Sedlaczek has also been moderating the Bundesliga on Saturday since 2014 and is a reporter in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League . In June 2014, she also hosted the free-to-air program Der Goldene Ball - One Becomes a Millionaire on Sky alongside Collien Ulmen-Fernandes for the first time a show in which one of four candidates won one million euros through the services of a prominent sponsor. Two years later she presented the big ProSieben Völkerball Championship 2016 on ProSieben together with Thore Schölermann and, on the occasion of the upcoming European football championship, the ProSieben international game . In 2017 she supported Xavier Naidoo at the music show Xavier's request concert as a presenter.

Sedlaczek lives in her hometown of Berlin and regularly commutes to Munich for her work at Sky . She was initially managed by the Rita Reinkens agency before switching to the Munich-based Avantgarde Sponsoring company in 2016. Sedlaczek is a fan of Hertha BSC , as she and her mother often visited the Berlin Olympic Stadium and because of the atmosphere there, she began to develop her passion for football when she was twelve.

From February to December 2013 she was in a relationship with soccer player Kevin Trapp . In December 2018, Sedlaczek announced her engagement to a Munich businessman. At the end of May 2019, they became parents of one child.
