Alexander Eugen von Goßler , also von Gossler (born January 23, 1823 in Berlin , † October 3, 1892 in Klein-Kloden) was a Prussian manor owner , district administrator , member of parliament and secret councilor .

Life

Origin and family

Eugen von Goßler was a son of the Public Prosecutor General and Real Secret Chief Justice Conrad Christian von Goßler and his second wife Henriette Charlotte von Rumohr (1786–1845). He came from the Goßler family and founded the III. Line of noble family. The composer Clara von Goßler (1827–1864) was one of his sisters. His stepbrothers were among others the Real Privy Councilor and Minister of State Gustav Albert von Goßler (1st line of the noble family) and the Prussian Chancellor Karl Gustav von Goßler (2nd line of the noble family).

Eugen von Goßler married Elise von Schönitz (1839–1935) in 1864. The marriage resulted in five children (three sons and two daughters). His eldest son was the Prussian district administrator, member of the Reichstag and the Prussian. House of Representatives Karl Max Eugen Alfred von Goßler . Another son, Bernhard von Goßler (* 1868), was appointed royal Prussian lieutenant colonel , including in the Hussar Regiment "von Zieten" (Brandenburg) No. 3 and regiment commander of the Oldenburg Dragoon Regiment No. 19 . The youngest daughter Jenny Magdalena Mathilde von Goßler (* 1880) had been married to the District Administrator and Minister of State Karl Miesitschek von Wischkau since 1899 .

Career

Eugen von Goßler attended the royal Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Berlin until 1842 . He began to study law and cameralia in Berlin, but then moved to the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1843 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he started his legal career as a trainee lawyer and in 1847 became a district judge in Glogau . In 1856 he changed to the administrative service and became district administrator of the district of Guhrau in the administrative district of Breslau . In 1884 he was appointed a secret councilor. He held the office until his death in 1892.

Eugen von Goßler was a member of the constituency of Breslau 1 in the Prussian House of Representatives from 1863 to 1866 . He belonged to the faction of the Conservative Party . Goßler, captain of the Landeswehr ret. D., had been the owner of the Klein-Kloden manor in the Guhrau district since 1876.

After his death, his widow and later after her death his son Alfred continued the Klein-Kloden estate.

In 1863 he was made a Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John .
