Eugeniusz Juretzko

Eugeniusz Juretzko OMI (born December 25, 1939 in Radzionków ; † January 16, 2018 in Lublin ) was a Polish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Yokadouma in Cameroon .

Life

Eugeniusz Juretzko joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (OMI) and the Archbishop of Poznan , Antoni Baraniak SDB , ordained him a priest on May 17, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on May 20, 1991 as the first bishop of the diocese of Yokadouma, established on the same date. The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Yaoundé , Jean Zoa , on September 8th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Cornelius Fontem Esua , Bishop of Kumbo , and Gabriel Simo , Auxiliary Bishop in Douala .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on April 25, 2017.
