In 2011, around 70% of the freight transport volume of the Bentheimer Eisenbahn in the amount of around 1.15 million t was generated in the Europark. The main focus of goods traffic on Bentheimer Eisenbahn is sand and gravel transport, agricultural products, oil transport, peat transport, steel transport, animal feed and shipments in combined transport .
With the anticipated strong increase in transport volumes in the port of Rotterdam , it is expected that in future larger volumes will be handled via the Euroterminal in Europark, which as a result could develop into the "dryport" of the port of Rotterdam.
