Eva Dehm-Hasselwander

Eva Dehm-Hasselwander (* 23. July 1923 in Schwabing , † 7. September 2015 in Seeshaupt ), was a German children's book - author .

Life

Her maternal grandfather was the architect and representative of the garden city movement August Exter ; his settlements in Obermenzing , Laim , Gauting , Groebenzell and in the villa colony Neu-Pasing I attracted the attention of experts. She spent Eva's childhood on a farm in Obermenzing (the Lochnerhof ), which her father had acquired a few years after 1918 when he was discharged from the officer service. She started school in 1929 and attended the Lyceum of the Englischen Fräulein in Nymphenburg from 1933–1938 ; then she was at the Realschule of the English Misses in Regensburg and Nuremberg.

In 1941/42 she was an office worker at the Salzburg General Command (= conscription center) of the Wehrmacht and at the Luftgau Command of the Air Force in Munich. Subsequently, from 1942 to 1944, she began studying at the Hans Schemm College for Teacher Training in Pasing . The internship took place in Schwaz / Tyrol. From October 1944 she was a teacher (and sometimes acting headmaster) at various Bavarian elementary schools such as Thundorf (Ainring), Leobendorf (Laufen), St. Leonhard am Wonneberg and others. After the war she married the teacher Hans Dehm, with whom she had children Gabriele and Bernhard.
