Eva Maria Günschmann , née Eva Maria Götz (* before 1986 in Baiersbronn ) is a German opera singer (mezzo-soprano).

Life

Eva Maria Götz grew up in Baiersbronn and Weingarten near Karlsruhe . In 1986 she completed private vocal studies with the Italian baritone Scipio Colombo . After marrying the music teacher Christoph Günschmann, she completed her studies in school music (singing with Hanns-Friedrich Kunz ), piano and conducting at the Karlsruhe University of Music with the first state examination in 1991 . Her warmly timed mezzo voice, whose expressive spectrum ranges from the intimate-lyrical to the expressive-dramatic gesture, bears the handwriting of Scipio Colombo, who introduced her to the traditional bel canto technique.

From 1994 to 1997 Günschmann studied at the opera school of the Stuttgart University of Music , followed by the stage entrance examination . Before that, she received a guest contract at the Linz State Theater as Olga in the opera Eugen Onegin . From 1997 to 2000 she was part of the Pforzheim City Theater ensemble . Since 2001 she has been a member of the ensemble at the Trier Theater , where she was employed as an opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ). Since the 2010/11 season she has been a member of the United Theaters in Krefeld-Mönchengladbach .

Awards

  • For the personification of the Octavian Günschmann was nominated by the magazine Opernwelt as Young Artist of the Year 1998.
  • On September 6, 2006, she was declared “Singer of the Year” in an article in the “Trierischer Volksfreund” and received the “theater mask” from the Trier Theater Friends Association.
  • Eva Maria Günschmann is a scholarship holder of the Bayreuth Scholarship Foundation.
  • On July 2, 2013, the artist received the "Theater-Oskar", an audience award from the readers of the Rheinische Post .

Artistic focus

In addition to her stage work, the singer devotes herself intensively to German and international art songs. Her favorite composers include the romantics Franz Schubert , Robert Schumann , Johannes Brahms and Richard Wagner, the French impressionists Gabriel Fauré , Claude Debussy , Maurice Ravel and the Spanish-speaking sound writers Manuel de Falla and Alberto Ginastera . She organizes most of her recitals with her husband, Christoph Günschmann.
