Eva Maria Schieffer (* 1971 in Krefeld ) is a German recorder and transverse flute player .

Life

Eva Maria Schieffer was born and raised in Krefeld and lives and works near Paris . She appears regularly as a soloist and with various ensembles. She also teaches flute , piano , harmony and ear training and leads two choirs. She also works as a German teacher.

Eva Maria Schieffer received her musical training in Cologne at the State University of Music and at the university from Ula Schmidt-Laukamp , Günther Höller , Paulo Álvares , David Smeyers and Martin Sandhoff, among others . She completed her studies with the first state examination for music and English, with the concert examination for recorder, a chamber music examination for early music on the transverse flute and an examination for contemporary music.

She was a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now association (Frankfurt), the Richard Wagner Association , Düsseldorf , the European Academy of Fine Arts ( Montepulciano , Italy ) and the German-American Society in Krefeld . She has taken part in numerous master classes , among others with Marion Verbruggen , Han Tol , Bernhard Bahm and Jérôme Minis . She was also awarded the advancement award of the city of Trier and was a finalist in the international competition for contemporary music Nicati (category: soloists) in Biel / Bienne , Switzerland.

Together with the Austrian guitarist Barbara Lechner, she forms the “TonArt - Duo for Flute Tones and String Views” , an ensemble whose repertoire ranges from the Middle Ages to the modern, and she is a founding member of the “Bel Tempo” ensemble for early music. With the pianist and accordionist Dorrit Bauerecker ( Bonn ) she plays in a duo for contemporary music and improvisation. She also performs with the organist Helga Schauerte (Paris) and works regularly with the composer Simon Rummel (Düsseldorf).

As a soloist she played with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, the Gürzenich Orchestra (Cologne Opera), the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, the Trier Municipal Orchestra and the Palatinate Chamber Orchestra (Mannheim) in the Cologne Philharmonic, in the Théâtre de Champs-Elysées , Paris, in the Prince Regent's Theater, Munich and in the Thürmersaal in Bochum. She has performed at numerous festivals, including the Festive Days of Music, Trier, the Oberstdorfer Musiksommer, Festival Orgel PLUS , Bottrop, Improvise, Bochum, and the European Bach Festival, Paris.

In addition to maintaining her baroque repertoire, she has premiered numerous contemporary works, including concerts for solo recorder and symphony orchestra.

She has also recorded a few CDs and participated in radio recordings and broadcasts.
