Evangelical Church Deisel

The Evangelical Parish Church Deisel is a listed church building in Deisel , a district of Trendelburg in the Kassel district ( Hesse ).

In 1974 inside and outside renovated rectangular Saalkirche narrow chorus of a yoke and 5 / 8 -Schluss was constructed in the years 1512-1516. The originally added throat rib vault over the choir was apparently not implemented for financial reasons, and the church was continued to be built in a simpler form. The recessed, irregular wall gussets above the artistically hewn consoles , which are striking today, would not have been visible according to the original plan; they were included in the painting in 1560. In 1736 the ship was equipped with baroque style elements and the west tower was added with a three-story hooded lantern . A mansard roof covered with sandstone slabs was added to the church . The choir walls are structured by late Gothic tracery windows. The wooden barrel vault in the ship rests on octagonal wooden pillars. The semitons above the side rooms equipped with galleries are also supported by pillars.

In 1951, early Reformation wall paintings in the form of apple tendrils from 1560 were uncovered in the church interior, which were whitewashed during the Reformation iconoclasm under Landgrave Moritz von Hessen-Kassel around 1605 and then fell into oblivion. The pulpit dates from 1647, the organ by Balthasar Conrad Euler from Gottsbüren dates from 1830. The stained glass windows in the choir from 1953 are early works by Hans Gottfried von Stockhausen .
