Evmorfia Metaxaki

Evmorfia Metaxaki ( Greek Ευμορφία Μεταξάκη , * in Athens ) is a Greek opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Evmorfia Metaxaki studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Elisabeth Wilke and Lilian Sukis . In 2004 she completed her studies in opera and music theater with distinction. For her portrayal of Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro , she was awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medal of the Mozarteum Foundation. She completed master classes with Barbara Bonney , Thomas Hampson and Stella Doufexis .

In 2006 Evmorfia Metaxaki made her debut at the Salzburg Festival with the Mozart roles Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor and Bastienne in Bastien and Bastienne .

From 2004 to 2010 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Magdeburg and was awarded the advancement award for young artists. Here she sang Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte , Ilia in Mozart's Idomeneo , Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème , Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni , Despina in Mozart's Così fan tutte , Maria in Bernstein's West Side Story and Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel . Guest performances at the Konzerthaus Berlin , the Salzburg State Theater , the Greek National Opera, the State Theater Mainz , the State Theater Cottbus and the State Theater Braunschweig followed .

In 2009 she played Rodelinda in Georg Philipp Telemann's Flavius Bertaridus, King of the Longobards at the Magdeburg Telemann Festival . In autumn 2011 she went on tour as Armida in Handel's Rinaldo with the Lautten Compagney under the direction of Wolfgang Katschner - a joint production with the Handel Festival in Halle . With this baroque ensemble she made her debut in 2012 with the role of Almirena in Handel's Rinaldo , thereby expanding her Handel repertoire.

Since the 2013/2014 season she has been part of the ensemble at Theater Lübeck , where she sings many important roles in her field: Giulietta in Bellini's I Capuleti ei Montecchi , Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Adina in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore , Titania in Purcell's The Fairy Queen , Ginevra in Handel's Ariodante , Corinna in Rossini's Il viaggio a Reims , Dede in Bernstein's A Quiet Place and Marzelline in Beethoven's Fidelio .
